The Caste Hill, Nice, France
Castle hill, considered to be the cradle of the town of NICE is an old fortified site that was occupied by the Celtic Ligurians. It derived its name, NIKAIA, from the Phocian-Greeks when they setup a trading post near the coast in the 111 century BC. It was converted into a park, enhanced and doted with its magnificent waterfall at the end of the 19th Century during the Sardinian restoration.
